I am Robert Bockus and I am the owner and sole inspector for Tristar Consultants. The following is a little of my background. I was in the US Navy for 4 years and received an Honorable Discharge. I then spent 4.5 years as a Stationery Engineer before going to work for Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company in 1974. That year I became a Commissioned Inspector performing inspections on everything from an air tank to a Commercial Operating Nuclear Plant plus Air Conditioning / Refrigeration, Mechanical and Electrical equipment plus numerous accident investigations of insured equipment. Since 2002 I have been performing Commercial Property Inspections for many various Insurance Companies and private companies. I have held commissions for Jurisdictional Code inspections in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Connecticut.
I started Tristar Consultants in 1990 and became a Certified Home Inspector in order to not only work for myself but to help perspective home buyers and sellers in making informed choices in purchasing or selling a home and to give them the best and most professional and highest integrity inspection possible..Home sellers may also benifit from my inspections, look under the Move in Certified logo for more information.
I have taken Home Inspection courses from ITA (Kaplin, Inspection Training Associates)
I have additional training with AHIT (American Home Inspector Training)
I am a current active member of InterNACHI (International National Association of Certified Home Inspectors).
I have passed their certification exam.

I fulfill 24 hours of continuing education every year.
I own and use high-tech equipment such as a gas leak detector, moisture meter, Carbon Monixide Detector, and an Alpha II Continous Radon Monitor..
I generate easy-to-read computer generated inspection reports with photographs within 24 hrs. of the conclusion of the Home Inspection.
Unlike other home inspection associations, InterNACHI front-ends many of its membership requirements and requires that its members take many others soon after joining. In other words, all of our members must fulfill membership requirements before they can apply for membership. Other associations have little or no entrance requirements and encourage their members and associates to go out and perform hundreds of unqualified inspections for poor, unsuspecting consumers.
I have certified in Continous Radon Monitoring in accordance with EPA and NEHA requirements.
Certified Fire and Safety Inspector. In accordance with the National Institute of Fire and Safety Training (NIFAST)
My Promise to You
Choosing the right home inspector can be difficult. Unlike most professionals, you probably will not get to meet me until after you hire me. Furthermore, different inspectors have varying qualifications, equipment, experience, reporting methods, and yes, different pricing. One thing for sure is that a home inspection requires work, a lot of work. Ultimately a thorough inspection depends heavily on the individual inspector’s own effort. If you honor me by permitting me to inspect your new home, I guarantee that I will give you my very best effort. This I promise you.
